Two harvests
in one pass
DRAGO GT-Total is equipped with an innovative system for swathing the leftover plant material when harvesting corn. The corn header enables two harvests in one pass.
A specially designed stalk chopper feeds the straw material into an additional cross auger, which in turn deposits the chopped plant material in the center on a swath. This can then be easily collected with a transfer trailer or a self propelled forage harvester.
Innovative collecting system
Just straw
no dirt
When harvesting with DRAGO GT-Total, the corn straw is collected on a swath before the combine harvester passes over it. This prevents the residual plant material from being soiled with soil, stones and sand due to multiple passes.
In contrast to the conventional method, in which the straw material is collected afterwards using a swath chopper, with DRAGO GT-Total the corn straw never comes into contact with the soil when harvesting. This prevents unnecessary wear caused by foreign objects during the collection and further processing of the plant material.
total harvest
For maximum
performance
The innovative design of the DRAGO GT-Total makes it possible to utilize almost all of the residual plant material during the grain corn harvest. A special cross auger placed underneath the horizontal chopper collects the shredded material and guides it directly into the center of the corn header. During the pass, the straw chopper of the combine harvester also places cobs and leaves on the swath.
Preserving fine plant material for better biogas performance
The double harvesting process creates even more advantages. The fine plant material, which is important for subsequent fermentation, is retained during gentle harvesting with the DRAGO GT-Total. This is conveyed onto the swath and can be easily collected afterwards with a loader wagon or forage harvester.
Green Agriculture
Less fuel,
Better soil
DRAGO GT-Total makes a double contribution to more sustainable agriculture. On the one hand, considerable amounts of fuel are saved by efficiently depositing the straw material on a swath during the harvest. This eliminates the need for an additional pass with a tractor and thus minimizes the corresponding diesel consumption.
On the other hand, DRAGO GT-Total actively protects the soil. Each additional pass of the tractor also means compaction of the soil and thus the destruction of important soil structures that are crucial for the fertility of the soil, water retention and optimal root development of later crops. By using DRAGO GT-Total, an additional pass can be saved, which in turn protects the soil.
Versatile Ressource
Energy source corn residues
The residual plant material from corn harvest can be used in a variety of ways. Possible uses include methane production within the biogas plant, ethanol production or the production of biochar. Low substrate costs and high yields make grain maize straw an efficient choice.
Low costs, high yield
As a by-product of the grain corn harvest, biogas plants benefit from the low substrate costs of the straw material compared to the high rental prices for silage corn land. With up to 90 %* of the methane yield compared to corn silage, the residues offers excellent utilization possibilities in the biogas plant.
